Membership and participation in Columbus Writeshop is 100% free – always has been, always will be!
Columbus Writeshop is a critique group for writers living in or near Columbus, Ohio. Our goal is to help writers who are seeking to get their short story or novel manuscripts to a professional, publishable level. Our group is made up of a mix of professional writers primarily creating stories in Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, or Romance who have published novels and short stories. We meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month to review up to 5 manuscripts.
Because practice is crucial to improvement, active Writeshop members are expected to submit new pieces for review on a regular basis. Regardless of submission status, however, members are also expected to participate in monthly critique sessions, so everyone can share in your experience and point of view. For details on how we crit, the types of writing we accept, etc. see Writeshop Critique Method and How To Join Writeshop for more details.
Membership is open to any writer 18 years of age or older who is currently working on a novel manuscript, short story manuscripts, or who are actively working to improve their writing skills to a professional level.
